PROSPECTUS

49th ANNUAL   EXHIBITION

January 9th to 31st, 2016

Note : The Last date for submission of exhibits in the 49th Annual Exhibition 2016 has been extended. Exhibits will be received also on 12th, 13th & 14th Nov.2016.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

ELIGIBILITY

The exhibition is open to any artist of Indian subcontinent domicile who has completed a degree in Fine Arts. For self taught artists two solo exhibitions is a must.
Each artist can submit one work only in two different categories. The maximum age limit is 40 years.
All works should be original and not exhibited in any previous exhibition.  

THE GENRES OF COMPETITION

  1. Drawing
  2. Painting
  3. Sculpture / Sculptural object 
  4. Graphics
  5. Photography / Photographic montage
  6. Video and Installation

PROCESS OF SELECTION

  1. Participants have to submit a high resolution image (Jpeg File) of the work in a C.D. or good quality photograph (minimum 5x7 inches). C.Ds & Photographs submitted for selection purpose are not refundable in any circumstances.
  2. Preliminary selection will be done from these CDs. / Photographs
  3. Selected artists will be intimated after the selection. Participants must provide email ID & mobile number to make this process faster.
  4. Intimated artists will have to submit the selected work/s in original. 
  5. Final selection will be done from these works. 
  6. All exhibits will be submitted to the Selection & Judging 
    Selection & Judging committee has full authority to accept or reject any exhibit. The decision of the Committee will be final and no objection or any communication on this issue will be entertained.
  7. All art works should have been done after 1st January 2015. Sculptures can be made after 1st January 2014

AWARDS

The Academy will give awards of Rs. 50,000.00 (Rupees fifty thousand only) each for a work of outstanding merit across the genres. The Selection & Judging Committee may keep back at their discretion any of the awards if they do not find the exhibits of any group up to the required standard. Award may be shared as per the verdict of the Judging Committee. 

SCHEDULE

  1. Please collect the schedule from our office after September 29th, 2015 and submit the application form along with CD and entry Fees by November 7th, 2015.
  2. The date of submission of original work/s (Intimated candidates only)
                December 4th -17th, 2015

ENTRY FEE: 
Rs.400/- (Rupees Four Hundred only)

RECEIPT
CD / Exhibits will be received in the Academy’s Office on all days (except Mondays and holidays) between 12 noon - 1.30 p.m. & 2.30 p.m. – 6-30 p.m. and on Sundays between 4 & 6 p.m. 

INSURANCE
The Academy will not be responsible for insurance charges incurred for the art works sent by the exhibitors either through the railway or any other agencies. The Academy will take every possible care of the exhibits submitted but will not be liable for any damage.

REPRODUCTION & COPYRIGHT
The Academy reserves the right to reproduce in its catalogue any exhibit accepted for the exhibition.

RETURN OF EXHIBITS
The artists must collect his / her object within 15 days after the exhibition in person or through an authorized representative along with the receipt issued by the Academy. The Academy is not liable for any damage after 15 days. Artist will have no claim after April 30, 2016

GENERAL

  1. Painting, drawing, graphics etc., must be suitably framed and sculpture secured suitably with pedestals. The academy is not liable for damage and security of loose pedestals.
  2. Entries should be properly labeled. Label is supplied with the schedule.
  3. The Academy may accept works in fragile medium like clay, terracotta, glass or plaster of paris on the entire risk of the artist and the Academy will not be responsible for any damage.
  4. Size of the sculpture: Height 150cm. with pedestal, width 75cm and weight 200kg. maximum. ​
    Size of the painting, graphics & drawing: 150 cm. x 125 cm. maximum. 
  5. The freight charge for the exhibit of outstation artist to be borne by the artists themselves. A refundable security deposit of Rs. 500/- by outstation artist should be sent with the exhibit. Change of address, Phone No. if any, should be communicated immediately.
  6. If the object is not taken back within the stated time the security deposit will be used for crate and freight expenses.
  7. Exhibits sent by Rail, Road, Air, Post & Parcel should be dispatched in advance so that the Academy receives on or before December 17th, 2015.

IMPORTANT DATES
September 29, 2015 – November 7, 2015 : Collect schedule and submit image of the work in a CD or photograph along with the schedule.

December 4 – 17, 2015 :
Submit the work/s if selected.

January 9 – 31, 2016 :
