Mithu Senarrow

New Delhi based Mithu Sen (b. 1971) trained at Visva Bharati, Santiniketan and Glasgow School of Art, UK. She has had solo exhibitions worldwide and the most recent are ‘Me two’,Krinzinger Project, Vienna (2009); ‘Dropping gold, dropping gold’, Suzie Q (bob van orsaw gallery), Zurich (2009); ‘Freemithu’, Khoj, New Delhi (2009); ‘I Dig, I Look Down’, Albion Gallery, London (2008); ‘Half Full Part I&II, Bose Pacia, New York and Nature Morte, New Delhi (2007) and ‘Drawing Room’, New Delhi and Mumbai (2006).

Mithu’s work has been shown in ‘Abstract Cabinet’, Eastside project space, Birmingham (2009); ‘Indian Xianzai’, MOCA Shanghai (2009); ‘India Modern’, IVAM, Valencia (2009); ‘Where in the World’, Devi Art Foundation, New Delhi (2008); ‘Still Moving Image’, curated by Deeksha Nath, Devi Art Foundation, New Delhi (2008); ‘Emotional Drawing’, Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (2008); ‘Horn Please: The Narrative in Contemporary Indian Art’, curated by Bernhard Fibicher and Suman Gopinath, Kunst Museum, Switzerland (2007-08); ‘Tiger by the Tail! Women Artists of India Transforming Culture’, Brandeis University, Boston (2007); ‘Making/Unmaking’ (2007) and ‘Are We Like This? Mithu was awarded the YFLO (FICCI) young achievers award in 2008. She has participated in numerous residencies and artists’ workshops, some of which include the UNESCO Ashberg ‘Bursaries for Brazil’ residency (2005/06), the Art Omi International artist residency, New York and Wasani International Artist Workshop, Kenya (2004).
