SUHAS ROYarrow

The artist was born in 1936. Studied at the Indian College of Draughtsmanship, Kolkata. Afterwards he went to Paris to the Atelier 17 of William Hayter and then the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts. He acted as the Head of the Painting Department at kala Bhavan in Shantiniketan. His work reflects the skillful blend of fantasy with the everyday life around him. Few of his selected shows: Art of Bengal, by CIMA Art Gallery, Kolkata and Mumbai, 2001; `Modern and Contemporary Indian Paintings`,Sotheby`s Auction,London, 1996; Galerie 88, Singapore, Hongkong, Canada, New York, 1996; Academy of Fine Arts, Calcutta, 1991.
