It is with great pleasure that Birla Academy of Art and Culture presents La. Showcasing 3 short films by Yudhajit Basu and Prithvijoy Ganguly - Quiro, Gulnara and Nehemich. His was followed by a conversation with the duo about their photo essays and journey as filmmakers. 

Our familiarity with words, sounds or objects lend meaning to our minds, but not always. Occasionally we encounter situations in which they by themselves mean nothing, or appear vague. Yet the experience in their discovery may begin to mean much more. A relationship is thus formed. The stillness and silence of the films are punctuated with metallic rumbling or fluttering of wings. A stranger's gaze pierces through a misty morning. The simple and sporadic use of spoken words, in an unfamiliar dialect, become powerful tools to convey deeper emotions. La presents a unique opportunity to explore the unfamiliar, and make it our own - an experience that will linger and which we will carry back with us.
