“In the rush and turmoil of jet-age, man’s soul yearns for a gentle tranquility - one which the Arts can provide. And so it was, to encourage and fulfill the aesthetic quest of our people, that the Birla Academy of Art and Culture was established in 1967 - to promote the visual and performing arts, to preserve the artistic and cultural heritage of India.

Much has been done, but there is much more to do. In its every activity, the Academy seeks to spread the message of tolerance and brotherhood which, for centuries immemorial, has been the keynote of Indian culture.”
