Svikriti 2026

We present seven of our award winners for the year 2026-2027 - Aishi Biswas, Arnab
Das Adhikari, David Malaker, Indraagni Ghosh, Muskan Kaur, Pralay Mistri and
Samir Das.
Starting with the notion of line - how does it shape our identities? As it meanders
through beliefs, opinions and geographies - imagined or real, these are often drawn
across our psyche, to demarcate. Are there points of convergence, where they can also
meet?
Like every year, individual practices - diverse in belief, approach and methodology
converge into Svikriti, bound by a single idea and purpose. By offering them a safe
space for experimentation and open dialogues we encourage them to realise their
project to its possible potential.
In the six months following the Birla Annual exhibition that culminates in this award
winners’ show, Svikriti becomes a common ground for ideation, introspection and self
- expression for the young award winners, resulting in the presented body of works.
We wish to thank our Mentors - Amy Parish, Partha Dasgupta, Samindranath
Mazumdar and Sujoy Mukherjee who have graciously devoted their time in guiding
these awardees and lending their vital support to our Award winners’ mentorship
program.
